On this page you will find pictures from a variety of family trips that we have taken over the years to various locations. These cover trips that are not shown with the pages on the left and below this one.

In October of 1999, Ellie accompanied Randy to London and the UK where he was making a presentation to a group of doctors. The link below shows some of the sights that we saw during that trip including the erection of the "London Eye"

Early in April, Ellie and Randy spent a long weekend in one of their
favorite cities, San Francisco. Even with the days being gray and
cold, it was a wonderful time in a great city. There is so much to see
and do. Check the link below for just some of the sights of the City
by the Bay.
Later in April we went to a warmer location, Florida for our traditional spring get away. Randy, Ellie, Bre and Ian spent a relaxing time enjoying Easter at Disney World.
During 2000, Randy and Ellie celebrated their 30th
Anniversary with a trip to the Middle East.
The trip started by traveling to Germany
for several days with included a day in Oberammergau
for the Passion Play and a visit to Dachau.
Upon leaving Germany, we
travel to Israel to tour the
Holy Land. We first flew into Tel Aviv,
traveled north along the coast with stops at historic sites along the coast
before turning inland and heading to Nazareth.
We spent several days in Tiberius along the Sea of Galilee with day trips to
see the location of the Sermon on the Mount, Capernaum, ancient fishing
villages, Peter's home, the west bank and the River Jordan.
We traveled south from the Sea of Galilee to the city of Jericho,
the site of the Dead Sea Scrolls, Masada and a swim in the Dead Sea before
arriving in Jerusalem
for several days. While in Jerusalem we went to
the West Wall (formerly called the Wailing Wall), Mount of Olives, Bethlehem and Christ's birth
site, the Garden Tomb and the Stations of the Cross. We left Jerusalem the day after the Middle
East peace talks broke down. There was obvious change in the
atmosphere.
We traveled south by bus to a border crossing into Egypt
and crossed the Suez Canal and the Sinai Peninsula on our way to Cairo. We stayed in Cairo for several days seeing the early pyramids in Memphis, cruised the Nile and the Great Sphynx and Great
Pyramids of Giza before heading back to the U.S.

In December the family (including Ellie's dad - Jerry and future son-in-law Reid) went to Las Vegas. Randy's brother AJ and wife Shirley drove out from Los Angeles to meet us.

2002 found us taking several trips. Easter found us in Florida. Breann was in school at Gonzaga in Spokane, so Ellie's dad and Randy's mom joined them. We all had a great time during a visit to Sea World.
In June we took Ian and his friend Ben to Colorado for a high school graduation trip. We picked up Breann in Denver. She had flown in from Spokane to join us and then return to get ready for her wedding in July.
August was move Breann and Reid's wedding gifts and personal items to Spokane. Reid's mom and a friend drove one truck and Randy and Ellie drove another each packed top to bottom, front to back. Bre and Reid met us along the way after a short honeymoon in Colorado. We stopped at a number of National Parks on the way out and on the way back.

Randy and Ellie took their first trip to Cancun, MX and feel in love with Cancun and Mexico in general. For pictures from this trip, click on the Mexico Trips to the left and then at the bottom of the page click on the July 2003 trip link OR the link below.

2004 started off, as it does many years, with a spring trip to Florida. Since Ellie's dad wintered there until 2006, it was a good time to get away from the winter up north and spend a little time in wonderful Florida weather.
In early July, Randy and Ellie took 10 family members with them to Cancun. For pictures of this FUN week with family click on the Mexico Trips page to the left (or the link below) and you'll see pictures from that trip PLUS many more by going to the 2004 link at the bottom of the page.
The 2nd sumer trip was a road trip from Chicago to California. Randy and Ellie were driving a friends car to California for them and took along his mom and her sister Lynn to spend time in Los Angeles with Randy's brother AJ and family. Whenever we are driving on vacation, we plan our trips with a map of National Park locations in hand. The Schnack Family vacations were always planned around visits to National Parks and Monuments. It is a fantastic way to see the sights of this great country of ours and learn about its history at the same time.
Randy and Ellie joined their friends Bob and Ellie (it was their car) in Las Vegas for several days before they flew back to Chicago.
The year ended with Randy, Ellie, Ian and Bethany flying to Spokane to spend the holidays with Bre, Reid, Sadie and Eli. On the return we stopped in Las Vegas for several days.

2005 saw Randy and Ellie flying down to Florida to drive back with Jerry.
In July, we celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary with a trip to Los Cabos Mexico. We were joined by Ian and Bethany. We returned via San Francisco and had college friend Rod Hall renew our wedding vows. Links for the Mexico portion of the trip (Mexico Trips) and the San Francisco portion (35th Anniversary Trip) are on the left OR below.
October found us in Edwardsville for the dedication of the school library in honor of Randy's dad. He had been the principal there for over 35 years.
Over Thanksgiving, the whole family, spent the last Thanksgiving in the house where Ellie and sister Bonnier were raised in Davenport. The decision had been made that Jerry would be moving to be closer to Ellie and Bonnie in Chicago. This would also be his last winter in Florida.

The annual spring trip to Florida was a special one this year. Randy and Ellie met a number of their Concordia Classmates there for several days of reminiscing. It was a wonderful time with long time friends.
In August Randy and Ellie went to Florida on their own for several days of relaxation before Ellie started a new school year.
The fall found Randy and Ellie in Amsterdam. Click the link to the left or below for those pictures.
