We love you and will miss you. You have been a special part of the lives of so many people.
Grandpa helped start the South Park Fire Department in Aurora and was its first Chief. To honor his years of service, the South Park Fire Department provided an honor guard at the funeral home and served as pall bearers. An ambulance and truck from South Park lead the funeral procession from the church to the cemetery, stopping briefly at the station en route.
Charlie's Obituary
Bre and Reid shared a duplex with Cody's family in Spokane until April 2004. Bre frequently sat for Cody and they loved each other immediately. While traveling that summer, Cody was killed in a tragic accident. We dedicate the poem below to Cody and his family. He lives on in our hearts and through his donated organs in children in Canada and the United States.
Died July 17, 2004 (3 years old)
Heaven’s gates were opened today The reason why, we just can’t say. But through them passed a tiny child, Jumping, romping, yet so mild.
There before the gates he stays, Stopping sweetly, to kneel and pray. A prayer for Mommy is in his smile: “I am with you, just look awhile.
Look to heaven, I am there; No more hurting, never a tear. Daddy, give Mommy a big, big hug. Hold her close and don’t give up.
I know you miss me; oh, so much, And life will need a little crutch. Hold each other – everyday. While we’re parted, I will pray.
I’ll be waiting for you - Someday.”
