The summer of 2007 is filled with a mixture of Business and Personal trips.
Each year Randy is required to attend a securities compliance meeting. This year it was held June 14-17 in Park City UT. Since it was held during the summer months, Ellie was able to go along.
We arrived on Thursday and headed up the mountain on the resorts gondola with a glass of champagne in hand for the openning dinner at the mountain top restaurant. We had the mountain, gondola's and restaurant all to ourselves.
Saturday night we were invited to the home of Tony Thompson, CEO of Triple Net Properties.

Randy and Ellie took Randy's Administrative Assistance and her friend to Orlando for an office retreat. Between the daily meetings that Randy and Kaitlin had, the four took advantage of the many activities that Orlando has to offer. The time also allowed Randy to visit with several of his clients in Florida.

Randy had a business trip to Las Vegas and since it was during the summer while Ellie isn't teaching, she was able to go along and enjoy everything that Vegas has to offer. Most days, Randy was in meetings at the Wynn Resort. Two evenings, they took advantage of being in Vegas for Randy's birthday and Randy & Ellie's anniversary to enjoy the only two Cirque du Soleil shows that they had seen previously. One evening we journeyed outside of Vegas for a western style BBQ in an old west town.
The BIG trip this year was to Europe. The primary reason for the trip was to join 14 fellow members of Grace on a two week mission trip to the Lutheran school in Martin Slovakia-The Bible School in Martin (see link on Web Directory page). They flew from Chicago to Munich and then to Vienna for 4 nights in this beautiful Austrian city.

On Saturday morning (July 28) we were meet at our hotel by representative from the school to take us by bus the approximately 4 hours drive from Vienna to Martin. The next Monday began our "official" mission activities as 12 members from our group began teaching English to area residents ages 12 to 57 conversational English. The other 4 members help with maintenance project at the school. Evenings and weekends were filled with sight seeing trips and activities to the breathtakingly beautiful Slovakian countryside.

Each year Randy and Ellie try to take a final trip before Ellie begins her classroom responsibilities. With Ian and Bethany considering moving to Temple after Ian finishes the final year of his masters program at the Univ of IL so that Bethany can begin a masters at Arizona State, this seemed like a great time to renew our familiarity with all that is Phoenix. Randy's cousin Cheryl and her husband David live in Phoenix, so it was also a great time to see an all too distant cousin that is the only Schnack family cousin of Randy's father's side of the family. Ellie also got to see a high school friend who lives in the Phoenix - Missy. Be sure to check out the pictures of Randy and Ellie's hot air balloon trip in the desert north of Phoenix.
